About Us
We aim to cut your energy bill promoting energy efficient behaviour and switching energy suppliers. We think that energy efficiency is the poor cousin of the global warming debate. There is much discussion about new fuel technology, nuclear power and carbon trading schemes, but in comparison not much is said about reducing our consumption.
Our objective is to address this imbalance. With your help we will explore the direct and indirect financial and carbon savings you can make by changing your behaviour or by purchasing more efficient appliances. Over the coming months we intend to explore ways of reducing the world’s energy bill by changing the decisions we make about packaging, the clothes we buy, the transport we use and the food we buy. We want to cover the different ideas that the world’s economies are going to deploy in order to reduce energy consumption.
Our focus is on reducing the world’s energy bill and with it the amount of carbon that is released into the environment. Our priority is reducing the total global energy bill and, if possible, our own personal amount of that. While there are many savings to be had from reducing our consumption, some decisions reduce the amount of energy we use but actually increase the cost of the product. Buying our food from local producers might reduce the energy bill, but it may mean we pay more for the same product.
We do not know where our exploration of energy efficiency is going to lead us. But we’ll do our best to make this as interesting and beneficial as we can. Realising the cheapest energy bill is going to be a never ending process for us.
